What a lovely location, “we had a lovely few days at the cottage. Marian and Charles were friendly and helpful. My husband really enjoyed his birthday 'Mid -week Weekend'.

Thank you for letting us stay at such short notice. The facilities were very comfortable and the cottage is ideally located in a pretty, quiet village that is easily accessible from the major motorway networks. We went to see King Lear at the new RSC in Stratford, visited the Heritage Motor Museum in Gaydon and went for some lovely walks at Croome Park and The Malverns. “      Sue, Shropshire UK

A small glimpse of heaven

“Our American family of 4, with daughters aged 14 and 18, stayed 3 nights at this lovely cottage in late June 2010, after a week in London. We would have happily lingered here much longer. Modest in size, but filled with warmth and delight. Breakfasted on a private patio opened upon from the living room, with flowers overflowing the patio walls, a gentle hill banking away, and overlooking spectacular peaceful countryside. When we arrived, we found fresh eggs, wonderful bread and local jam, some wine, and plenty of directions and information about the area. Truly peaceful. Very short day trips to Wales, Warwick Castle, famous Cotswold gardens, or just great hikes in the country. We were welcomed in the village, and given cricket lessons at the cricket field. A place to stay and immerse yourself in local life. Our family would very happily return. “  Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

Wonderful cottage set in delightful garden

“We have just spent a few nights at this cottage which is built on the grounds of a former pigsty, and now sits beside a converted barn in a well kept pretty garden. The cottage is warm and welcoming. There's plenty of hot water and a good shower. The kitchen is a little dated but fine for the purpose. We were welcomed by Marian with some freshly baked home-made bread which was still piping hot, and delicious with the eggs and butter which she also provided.

We would thoroughly recommend this cottage to one or two couples, or families. The two bedrooms are small but very pleasantly furnished and four people could stay here with no difficulty. There are large cupboards on the landing for clothes etc. The view from the main bedroom is fantastic.

We hope to come back next year. That's a rare thing for us to say, as we never go anywhere twice! But our stay here was so relaxing, we were were made so welcome, and there is so much to do in the area that when the time came to leave we didn't want to go!

Many thanks to the lovely couple Marian and Charles.” Gillian and Martin, London

Lovely village, Quiet, Relaxing, Good local food

“We are frequent travellers who have enjoyed returning on many occasions to Charles and Marian’s lovely cottage in the secluded little village of Birlingham. The cottage is well equipped and has more than you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Marian has added extra little touches you don’t normally find in other holiday cottages like fresh flowers and a welcome food pack. It’s this attention to detail that makes you feel very much at home rather than in just another rental property. You say to yourself it’s good to be coming home as you proceed along the quiet village only road to arrive at the cottage!

Marian and Charles are most welcoming and charming owners who had established a lovely cottage in this scenic part of the county. Marian is a wealth of local knowledge and is close at hand to assist with  advice on where to visit and eat. I remember the local pub Marian recommended that had an excellent £10, 3 course dinner with the best lemon pudding I’ve ever eaten. The local farm shop is a real treat for fresh supplies (including the delicious asparagus) and the BBQ’s on the cottage terrace overlooking the paddocks and river were very enjoyable.

We always find new adventures when using the cottage as a base in the area. The location is very convenient and it is easy to explore local towns like Malvern for shopping and all the little villages along the Avon and Seven rivers. The bigger town of Pershore is only a few minutes away and apart from the usually supermarkets there is a regular farmer’s market for fresh local produce. Pershore also has established an enthusiastic local theatre where weekly events cover all sorts of productions.

We loved our day trips to Wales, the Brecon Beacons (for walking), Hay-on-Wye (for books) and of course the all the local eateries. One of our favourite walking routes started at the cottage and wandered alongside sheep and cattle paddocks, the banks of the Avon river and past a large secluded otter wetlands sanctuary where a special conservation area has been established. Plenty of different types of birds were always to be seen along the river and most nights a large barn owl would visit the tree in the paddock next to the cottage. It’s great to see the barges chug slowly along the river and enjoy the countryside right on your doorstep.

Would happily recommend this wonderful cottage to families or couples who wish to enjoy the attractions of this great part of the country.”    Jenny and Kim, Australia

Great relaxing holiday!

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Peacock Cottage with our young children last spring. The kids enjoyed running around the garden, playing 'pooh sticks' by the river and looking at the newly born lambs.

The village church was certainly worth a visit to admire the carpet of snowdrops and we went on to eat at the Swan, the cosy village pub welcoming children.

We'd really recommend a stay at Peacock Cottage.”  H&MD, Cardiff, Wales

A wonderful place to stay

“This is a great cottage in a great location. It has a lot of character and a great garden with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. It has all the necessary amenities including parking. Its village location provided peace and tranquility and ensured a good nights sleep always. Initially I discovered this cottage whilst looking for somewhere to stay during a business trip. I enjoyed the cottage and the friendliness of the owners so much that I subsequently booked the cottage again for a holiday with my girlfriend. We really enjoyed sitting on the bench in the garden and enjoying the natural surroundings and wildlife.

The owners are very welcoming and have a wealth of knowledge of the area and the best places to visit and see, as well as the best places to eat!

There's also a great pub in the village that served really good evening meals and it was also a place to meet the friendly locals.

I have no hesitation in recommending this place. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book it again.”

The pheasant country !!!

(Lexilogos Traduction)) “We appreciated a lot the small village of Birlingham and this magnificent holiday cottage in the middle of nowhere, very well equipped with an attractive view on the region! A magnificent " pheasant " crossed every day the attractive garden onto which the holiday cottage looked by spray-painting the trunk to show us well that it was of the place. The weather almost ' incredible for the season enlightened this magnificent region and has us allowed to discover an exceptional heritage in an enormous often charming frame!!!!  “    Hatty, Rennes, France

Charming Cottage and Beautiful Gardens - “My husband and I had the good fortune to stay at the Pig Sty for a week late May of 2013. Of all the places we stayed in England, and there were several, this was our favourite. The location is wonderful - near Cotswold and several National Trust properties. The cottage is located off the beaten path on a quiet country lane, surrounded by rolling hills. The gardens on this property are an inspiration, thoughtfully designed and beautifully maintained. The attractive cottage is very well laid out and equipped with everything needed. The downstairs has an ample kitchen, an eating/sitting area with a wood stove, comfortable seating and, best of all, beautiful views to the gardens and Breton Hill. Upstairs are two attractive bedrooms. The whole cottage feels bright and light with large windows and glass double doors leading to a delightful patio. Everything was sparkling clean. Mrs. Kirkland is a lovely woman. We were welcomed with fresh bread, milk, eggs, butter, and a bouquet of fresh flowers from the garden. All in all, a lovely place to stay! “
